Article 89 Of The Indian Constitution
- The Vice-President of India shall serve as the Council of States’ ex officio chairman.
- As quickly as possible, the Council of States shall elect a member to serve as the Council’s deputy chairman, and the Council shall elect a new deputy chairman whenever the position of deputy chairman becomes vacant.
